promoting school choice, with a specific focus on advocating for school vouchers
and scholarship tax credit programs. The American Federation for Children is a
501(c)(4) organization. We are affiliated with the American Federation for
Children PAC, a political committee that supports and opposes state-level
candidates for elected office, and we work closely with our educational partner,
the Alliance for School Choice, a 501(c)(3) organization, to promote the
benefits of—and the need for—school choice.

Common Sense
It is immoral that the quality of schooling is based on the value and location of your home. School choice gives parents the freedom to choose a school based on its quality and their child’s needs, not their home address.
Parental Power and Freedom
Most people can’t afford to pay twice for education, once in taxes and again in private school tuition. School choice gives parents financial power and flexibility by letting them use public funds set aside for education to send their children to the school of their choice—public or private, near or far, religious or secular—whatever works best for their children. In every part of the country, children are assigned to a public school based on where their parents live. School districts, in nearly all cases, control local monopolies that dictate the terms and conditions of education for students and schools. School choice gives parents the freedom to choose a school.
Healthy Competition and Effective Schools
Most schools in America still operate using a 19th century industrial model for delivering goods and services. Today, schools generally do not function in a way that can effectively meet the specific needs and priorities of every unique child. School choice forces all schools—public and private—to compete and innovate in order to offer the best education possible to attract and retain students.
Parental Rights

ParentalRights.Org's mission is to protect children by empowering parents through adoption of the Parental Rights Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and by preventing U.S. ratification of the UN's Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC):
(1) by securing citizen support for the Parental Rights Amendment;
(2) by securing cosponsors for the Parental Rights Amendment in the U.S. House and in the Senate;
(3) by encouraging state legislative resolutions in support of the Parental ights Amendment;
(4) by securing sponsors for U.S. Senate Resolution
99 opposing ratification of the CRC.

Eagle Forum supports traditional education
Every child should be able to read by the end of the first grade and should be taught to read using phonics.We urge parents to teach their own children to read before they enter school. Reducing illiteracy is an Eagle Forum priority. We oppose and deplore the dumbing down of the academic curriculum through fads such as Outcome-Based Education and courses in self-esteem, diversity, and multiculturalism. We oppose liberal propaganda in the curriculum through global education and Political Correctness. We support parents’ rights to guide the education of their own children, to protect their children against immoral instruction and materials, and to home-school without oppressive government regulations. We oppose the feminist goal of federally financed and regulated daycare. Eagle Forum was a primary factor in passing the Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment, and we strongly support its enforcement to protect children against psychological testing and mental-health screening without parental consent. Eagle Forum sponsors programs for Eagle Forum Collegians and Teen Eagles so they will be taught accurate information about American history and current issues.

Home School Legal Defense Association is a nonprofit advocacy organization established to defend and advance the constitutional right of parents to direct the education of their children and to protect family freedoms. Through annual memberships, HSLDA is tens of thousands of families united in service together, providing a strong voice when and where needed.
HSLDA advocates on the legal front on behalf of our members in matters which include conflicts with state or local officials over homeschooling. Each year, thousands of member families receive legal consultation by letter and phone, hundreds more are represented through negotiations with local officials, and dozens are represented in court proceedings. HSLDA also takes the offensive, filing actions to protect members against government intrusion and to establish legal precedent. On occasion, HSLDA will handle precedent-setting cases for nonmembers, as well.
HSLDA advocates on Capitol Hill by tracking federal legislation that affects homeschooling and parental rights. HSLDA works to defeat or amend harmful bills, but also works proactively, introducing legislation to protect and preserve family freedoms.
HSLDA advocates in state legislatures, at the invitation of state homeschool organizations, by assisting individual states in drafting language to improve their homeschool legal environment and to fight harmful legislation.
